KABOOM! Say what you will about former Governor Huntsman, but this is a very effective take down of Mittens. I hope we see more of these Mitt-videos…. but, from Democrats.

It’s on, folks! Hey Mittens, here’s what is coming for you once you secure the GOP nomination thanks to the good folks at Priorities USA Action. Nice work, and note that this doesn’t even use the obvious: Mitt’s flip-flops.

Boom! Huntsman goes for Mittens’ throat, again

Think Progress rounds up 99 Facts about Mitt Romney, and there are some doozies in there:

4. Mitt Romney set up shell companies in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda to avoid U.S. taxes.

[Los Angeles Times,  12/19/2007]

Hey Mitt: You can run, but you can’t hide. If and when you get the GOP nomination for president, you’ll have to be seen. (This, btw, is another Huntsman webvideo… and it’s brutal as usual.)

I just read a write-up about how Mittens today went damn close to proposing privatizing our veterans’ health care. Wow. For someone running for president that seems pretty damn ballsy. I figured I’d take a look at Drudge to see if that site mentioned it- they have time to spread bullshit like a Christmas Tree tax, so of course he’d rally the right around the possibility of privatizing our troops health care, right? Wrong. Command+F brings up Chrome’s “find” option. Turns out that the word “Romney” isn’t anywhere to be found on the leading conservative website. Ouch.

DNC: “Oops”

This video pushes back on the bullshit attack line that our President called Americans “lazy”. He didn’t. Here’s the actual quote (via Benen’s write-up from yesterday) that the right finds so offensive:

“We’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades,” Obama said about business outreach. “We’ve kind of taken for granted, well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America.”

A graf or two down, Benen points at a quote from a Romney book where he says,

“We have been accustomed to being the world’s leading nation for so long, enjoying the freedom, security, and prosperity that comes with that leadership, that we have tended to avoid the hard work that overcoming challenges requires.”

How ‘bout them apples?

Romney takes a quote from 2008 well out of context here: “…if we talk about the economy, we’re going to lose…”. Obama was quoting that shitheel McCain in 2008 and the full quote is, “Senator McCain’s campaign actually said, and I quote, ‘If we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.’” Good try, Mittens. The sad part is, this will take root; spread the shit and nobody will clean it up. It is shit after all. After it’s been there awhile the stain will take hold. This is how the GOP wins elections.

Following up on my post below re: Mitten’s way-out-of-context swipe at Obama, ThinkProgress has a nice little video out:

*all quotes accurate by the standards of Mitt Romney

If Willard “Just strap the dog to the gal-darn roof” Romney’s ad is ok taking Obama’s 2008 quote of McCain out of context, then, hey, why not this

I recall a debate in 2008 on Fox News where Fred Thompson, Huckabee, and McCain kept throwing mud and veiled insults at Romney. Finally, after a good old fashioned multi-ribbing, he got fed up. Mid-question Romney looked sheepishly to his left and right and said something like, “Guys, please… can you stop?” Uhm, that’s what running for the highest office in the land entails: You will be attacked. The question is, “How do you handle it.” This cycle has shown the other candidates to be nearly afraid to attack (“Look what happened to Perry when he threw some shit!” they may think.) Anyway, rambling here, but check out this article from TNR on Mitt’s temper. It’s a must-read.

A peek:

IN JUNE 1981, Romney and his family were about to launch their motorboat on Lake Cochituate, west of Boston, when a state park ranger alerted Romney, who was 34 at the time, that he risked a $50 fine because the boat’s registration number was painted over. According to news reports that emerged during his 1994 run for Senate, Romney believed that the number was partly visible, and, against his wife Ann’s advice, proceeded to launch anyway. “I figured I was at the state park with my kids,” Romney told The Boston Globe in 1994. “My five kids were in the car wondering why we weren’t going out in the boat, so I said I’d launch and pay the fine.” The ranger ordered him to shore, put him in handcuffs, and drove him, still in his wet bathing suit, to the Natick police station, where he was booked for disorderly conduct.

Those charges were dropped of course. According to Willard, “He did not have the right to arrest me, because I was not a disorderly person,” he told the Globe.

Willard’s Temper Pt. II

(Hat tip to Ben Smith of Politico for embedding this video.)

He’s kind’ve scary in an odd I-have-been-holding-this-in-for-so-long-about-to-blow kind of way.

DNC Web Ad: “NH Voters on Mitt Romney: A Dishonest Fraud”

Over the Thanksgiving break, my mom brought Romney’s ad up and without me going off about the misleading soundbite she already knew that the line that’s caused all the hub-bub was out-of-context horse shit. She doesn’t watch much news so my take was that Willard and his boys aren’t getting away with this, unless “getting away” means setting up the electorate to see that Romney will try anything to gain the presidency. Huzzuh…

Romney’s FOX Interview… wasn’t very good for him.

Ok, fine, so I’m basically posting all the DNC’s webvids. Maybe some of the other candidates squaring off with him in the primary will learn how to take a shot at the presumptive GOP nominee? ‘Doubt it. Anyway, when the guy who’s basically already got the nomination for the GOP’s presidential candidate can’t take questions from frickin’ Bret Baier you know you have a shit candidate. What’s going to happen to Mittens when the real(ish) media starts interviewing him?

THIS is how you hit Willard and leave a mark. This comes courtesy of former Governor and ignored GOP candidate Jon Huntsman. Ouch.
